Regional Director, Advertising and Sponsorship Sales, Chicago
ChicagoThe Regional Director, Advertising and Sponsorship Sales will build and manage a successful sales and sponsorship territory. Working with the national head of sales, the Director will identify key industry verticals and develop compelling advertising sales strategies that enable immediate penetration of each market. The Director will target potential sponsorship partners as well as local advertising prospects in the region, and will passionately evangelize the company's value and products to all potential advertising and sponsorship partners, both at the client and agency levels, and be expected to meet or exceed established revenue targets through execution of multi-product program partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RecycleBank's program affords brands a unique opportunity to gain access to communities of highly engaged individuals through a variety of online and offline programmatic touchpoints, while supporting measureable green actions. The role of the Regional Director, Advertising and Sponsorship Sales will be to:
- Develop comprehensive multi-media advertising sales and sponsorship strategy, including tactics, targets, packaging, pricing, and the staffing necessary to maximize revenue
- Design customized and relevant programs that integrate RecycleBank's sponsorship, rewards, points and advertising offerings.
- Analyze RecycleBank's existing data (demographic, geographic, behavioral and transactional) to prioritize targets by type (e.g. vertical categories) and corresponding bundled program assets (both online and off)
- Lead the region's sales efforts by personally developing, negotiating and closing key accounts
- Drive a plan that is definitive, yet remains flexible to take advantage of the evolving assets and consistent business growth
- Manage revenue performance against plan, and develop the supporting sales strategy
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships and communication with all other company segments, enabling optimal results
- Help RecycleBank build and manage relationships with key clients and constituencies
- Negotiate and review contracts to close deals quickly and efficiently, with optimal terms
- Leverage expertise in consumer behavior and market preferences to build business cases, analyze partner opportunities, develop proposals and consult with prospective clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have a track record of sales success, including the development and evangelism of market-leading, multifaceted advertising products. Experience at a premium brand Internet company is preferred. The ideal candidate is passionate about business, creative and curious, and has proven traits of leadership, decisiveness and the ability to thrive in a fast-growing, controlled-chaos small business environment. A strong belief in the environmental mission of RecycleBank is essential.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proven ability to successfully leverage a suite of online and offline products tailored to a diverse set of customers
- A thorough understanding of advertising, marketing, and strategic brand management with a specific focus on retailer, CPG and consumer product promotions
- Experience analyzing customer business requirements and building creative and effective advertising solutions and messages
- Personal sales record shows a consistent ability to develop and maintain lucrative long-term relationships with leading companies
- Has deep relationships with brand leaders and advertising agencies
- In-depth familiarity with CPC, CPA, Affiliate, and CPM models
- Strong writing, presentation and analytical skills
- Familiarity with website analytics, usability, and design
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree
- 10+ years experience in advertising sales or related fields
- Strategic online experience a must
