FAQs
icon_faqs How does RecycleBank work and how can I earn RecycleBank Points?
Members of the RecycleBank program can earn Points via kerbside residential recycling. In the kerbside program, you are given a special wheelie bin and using ID and weighing technology, residents can earn reward points in relation to the amount of recyclinge they put out for collection. The weight will then be translated to RecycleBank Points. The more you recycle the more your household can earn. Reward Points can then be redeemed at participating retail shops both nationally and locally or you can use your Points to give donations to select charities.

What is the average savings at stores that these Points translate to?
Rewards vary as much as the people who use them. Rewards can come in the form of:
  • Discounts (ex. 20% off)
  • £ sterling off (ex. £5 off £25 or more)
  • Online gift codes
  • Gift certificates
  • Products (t-shirts, cookbooks or movie tickets)
An average recycling household can easily save £10-13 pounds sterling a month with rewards at retailers like Marks & Spencer or they can save a lot more if they get a reward like 10% off a purchase of £250 or more at an electronics store or a home furnishings store.
